LBC COWETA NEWSFLASH!
 
 

27 OCTOBER 2007... Work continues on the new location. Thanks to everyone who has pitched in to help build the stage, paint the building, pull up and lay flooring, clean, and decorate!

9 OCTOBER 2007... The first official meeting was held in the new building. Plaza 154, on Hwy 154, just south of Thomas Crossroads. This storefront will be our location until we are able to purchase a permanent location.

15-16 SEPTEMBER 2007... The Old Town Sharpsburg Fall Festival. The members of LBC Coweta, set up a booth in front of Richards Studio of Photography in order to introduce ourselves to the community. Hundreds stopped by for free water, balloons and information about the new church. We received cards from 32 people desiring follow-up during the event. We will be following up shortly with people as we solidify our new meeting location.

13 SEPTEMBER 2007... The "www.libertybaptistchurchofcoweta.org" domain was purchased and broadcasted information for the first time about the new church in cyberspace.

11 SEPTEMBER 2007... The group met to discuss the first enormous step in growing the church: Location. After a presentation from the Temporary and Permanent Site Teams, the proposition of a target area for church placement was voted and approved. The target area is the area encompased between Sharpsburg, 34/54 split, and Thomas Crossroads. The Temporary Site Team would proceed to find and propose a temporary location for the group to meet until the time and the funding is right for a permanent location.

21 AUGUST 2007... The first Core Leadership Team Meeting was held in Coweta County. These meetings would be a combination of Bible Study and Business Meeting, with the intention of pressing forward in the steps to begin a church and growing together as a family of believers.

9 AUGUST 2007... A group of members from Liberty Baptist Church of Fayette County met to discuss the first steps to beginning a new church in Coweta County. These 13 families in attendance showed a variety of ages and backgrounds, proving that LBC Coweta would truly be one church for all people. They discussed potential ministry groups that must be formed by this core group to take on the difficult task of starting a new church. Already, God was blessing these families, and giving them the strength to push forward.
